Dear Thompson Parents and Community,

Last night the members of the Enrollment Task Force voted unanimously to support adding two modular classrooms for the Thompson School into Article 4 of the Special Town meeting on January 25th. This is very exciting news, as it means we are one step closer to saving our art room, class sizes, and in taking steps towards a long-term enrollment solution.

Thank you to all of the parents and community members that took time to email the members of the Task Force. At the meeting a couple of the members commented on the amount of emails they had received (75-150!!), and how they appreciated hearing about the experiences the students have at their elementary school. It made them see our students as people, and not just "coins in a jar to move around."

If you know your Town Meeting members in your precinct, please reach out to them and let them know you hope they will vote "yes" on this Article and why. A simple conversation, or two sentence email is fine.

Also, if you have not already done so, please take a couple of minutes to fill out our survey in regards to the Middle School and the challenges it will be facing very quickly. Please feel free to share with your neighbors, classmates and friends. Our goal is to get an accurate representation of the entire town of Arlington. The survey will close on Sunday night.

Thank you again,
